Our Work

Transforming lives through education.

At Mtima Heart Foundation, we believe education has the power to transform lives, create opportunities, and break cycles of poverty for children and families.

Why education

A future no child should have to forfeit.

We work alongside schools, families, and local communities in Zimbabwe to identify underprivileged children who face barriers to education — and provide support that helps them continue learning with dignity, confidence, and hope for the future.

Our mission is to ensure that financial hardship does not prevent a child from accessing education and reaching their full potential.

Current Education Support Programme

Supporting learners through school partnerships.

Since January 2026, Mtima Heart Foundation has partnered with Chaedza Primary School to support children facing financial and social barriers to education.

The foundation is currently supporting two Grade 6 learners and will continue supporting them through their Grade 7 examinations next year — helping provide stability and continuity during an important stage of their education journey.

As the foundation grows, we hope to expand the programme in 2027 by supporting additional learners who require educational assistance and opportunities.

About Chaedza Primary School

Chaedza Primary School is located in Chinhoyi, Zimbabwe, and serves children from surrounding communities where many families face economic challenges and limited access to educational resources.

Like many communities across Zimbabwe, families in the area can experience difficulties meeting educational costs such as school fees, uniforms, stationery, examination fees, and other learning-related expenses. These challenges can place children at risk of interrupted education or reduced learning opportunities.

Through our partnership with the school and local community stakeholders, we aim to help vulnerable learners remain focused on their education and future aspirations.

A holistic approach

In addition to educational support, the foundation works alongside trusted community mentors and local leaders who help provide guidance, encouragement, positive role modelling, and personal development support to the learners. This holistic approach aims not only to support academic progress, but also to promote confidence, resilience, wellbeing, and long-term personal growth.

How we work

Built on transparency and direct partnerships.

Direct payments

Funds are paid straight to schools and suppliers wherever feasible, never in cash to families.

Direct-to-school approach

We partner directly with schools — beginning with Chaedza Primary School — rather than going through intermediaries.

Communities that need us most

We focus on schools serving children from families facing real economic hardship.
