Help a Child Stay in School — Chinhoyi Primary School

Mtima Heart Foundation is expanding its educational support programme through a new partnership with Chinhoyi Primary School in Zimbabwe.

Working with the school, we are currently identifying children who show educational potential but whose circumstances may make it difficult for their families to meet the costs associated with their education.

The school is shortlisting five children currently in Grade 5 who will enter Grade 6 in 2027. Following assessment, MHF intends initially to select two children for support initially.

Our aim is not simply to meet a single school expense. We want to give each selected child sustained support through Grades 6 and 7, helping them reach the end of primary education.

Estimated support for each child over two years:

School fees — US$350

Uniforms — US$130

Stationery and learning materials — US$160

Extra lessons and other educational support — US$270

Estimated total per child — US$910

Our US$2,000 fundraising goal will allow us to support two children while providing reasonable flexibility for changing educational costs and individual needs.

Children will be selected following MHF's assessment process, working with the school and relevant authorities to ensure support reaches children with genuine need.

If we raise more:

Two children are our starting point, not our limit. If this campaign exceeds its target, additional funds will allow MHF to consider supporting more eligible children identified through the programme.
