Help 20 Children Sit Their 2027 ZIMSEC Exams

A child should not reach the end of years of schooling only to miss their final examinations because their family cannot afford the examination fees. Help MHF support 20 children with their 2027 ZIMSEC exam fees.

For some children, the final barrier to completing an important stage of their education is not ability, commitment or effort — it is the cost of registering for their examinations.

Mtima Heart Foundation wants to help remove that barrier. Through our 2027 Exam Fees Appeal, we aim to support 20 children who are approaching important national examinations but whose families are struggling to meet the associated examination costs.

Our initial aim is to support:

10 Grade 7 pupils preparing for their ZIMSEC examinations; and

10 O-Level pupils preparing for their ZIMSEC examinations.

The children will be identified through schools working with MHF and assessed on financial need. Priority will be given to pupils for whom examination costs present a genuine financial barrier.

This is intended as one-off, targeted educational assistance: helping a child who has reached the examination stage to register and sit their examinations.

Based on published 2026 ZIMSEC rates, we estimate that supporting the first 20 children will require approximately US$1,060. We have therefore set an initial fundraising target of US$1,200. The actual amount required will depend on the official 2027 ZIMSEC examination fees, the type of school attended and, for O-Level pupils, the number of subjects being taken. MHF will therefore verify each child's examination charges before making payments.

If we raise more:

If donations exceed the amount required for the first 20 pupils, additional funds will enable MHF to help more eligible children facing examination-fee barriers.
